Salem L. (Sam) Kouri, CLU ChFC

 

Sam is a Richmond native, having lived there all but the two years he spent in the United States Army. During his tenure, he served as an infantry squad leader and platoon sergeant in the Republic of Vietnam. Among the awards he received serving his country are the Combat Infantryman’s badge, Good Conduct Medal and Army Commendation Medal.

Sam graduated magna cum laude from Virginia Commonwealth University and was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society after his initial career in the construction industry as a plumber and sole proprietor.  He also served on the Board of Directors for 7 years and was President in 1991-1992 for the largest financial services association in Virginia.

In addition to working with individuals and families, Sam’s emphasis has been placed on helping closely held business owners with a focus on the commercial and industrial construction industry. As a founding partner of the firms K & G Financial Services and Cowan, Kouri & White Financial Services, Sam works closely with the Associated Builders and Contractors, having served as the membership committee chairperson, as well as the Retention and Involvement Committee Chair for the association.  With more than 30 years of experience, he has developed long term relationships with individuals, executives and business owners with the mission of ensuring their quality of life and the success of their enterprises based upon their goals and personal values.

Sam currently resides in Midlothian, Virginia with his wife Cindy. He is a proud father of three children: Michelle, Christopher, and Melissa.
